HGNC download files overview
The HGNC host all of their data files on our Google Cloud Storage Bucket. The data files are available in both tab separated and JSON formats.
Statistics & download files
The files found in the Statistics & download files page are updated on each Tuesday and Friday. The page itself displays the current counts of each locus types and locus groups as well as the total number of approved gene symbols. Each category has a JSON and TSV file associated containing the current data found in our database. The page also contains links to download the complete HGNC dataset in both tab separated and JSON formats.

Gene group data files
Like the statistics & download files, the gene group data files are updated on each Tuesday and Friday. The files for the gene groups are database table dumps in a CSV format. For more information about these files, please see the Gene group DB table files.
Archived data files
The archive data files are updated on the first week of the month on a Tuesday or Friday, which ever comes first. If a monthly file is over 365 days old, the file will be deleted for us to save disk space however, the quarterly files are not deleted currently so for snapshots older than 365 days please use the quarterly files.
